Intro to Shaker Rowing

Spend a day with the Shaker Heights High School Crew team at their beautiful boathouse on the Cuyahoga River and learn the basics of what it's like to row for Shaker Crew.

• Tour The Foundry, Shaker's boathouse in the Flats

• Check out Shaker's boat fleet and rowing gear

• Meet the coaching staff

• Meet the team

• Get on the water in a Shaker crew boat (weather permitting)

• Learn basic rowing techniques & terms

• Try out the indoor rowing tanks

• Learn what an erg is and try rowing on one

• Hear what it's like to be a member of Shaker Crew

• Get some Shaker Crew swag

This event is FREE and open to rising 8th/9th graders plus any SHHS student new to rowing. Lunch is included. Bus picks you up and drops you off at Shaker Heights High School.
